Could THIS be your Creative Downfall?
Could Instant Gratification be your Downfall?
Nowadays, It's not very often we have to wait long for something we want to arrive. With next-day delivery, instant dopamine hits from social media, Kindle downloads or 24hr Tesco and McD’s.
That's what makes Art different. It's human, it takes time and there's very little getting around doing the work. In order to become good at it, you have to invest the time, mark-by-mark, painting-by-painting, hour by hour, day by day.
That's often why we give up. The gratification and results aren't quick enough and we get frustrated waiting for the perfect end result, totally skipping the in-between Yet, that in-between is full of joy. Each mark, new discovery, small win, lesson learned, problem solved and moment enjoyed.
The end product isn't the point. The process is.
It's worth its wait in gold!
