Podium Series:
A Contemporary Twist on Classical Sculpture, these cast of characters takes centre stage upon their own ceramic plinth. Some characters revel in their position, enjoying the limelight, other’s reach out hoping to connect, whilst some recoil at the attention, feeling exposed and laid bare.
Starting from the feet up, I try to find the information, the clues, to unlock the story of the character. A twist of a knee, an inverted foot, the tilt of the head or a flex of a muscle all culminate to form each figure’s individual persona.
