Momentary Musings
This year has taken a lot out of most of us, with many big milestones being stripped away and we all love the big moments; the award ceremony, the raise, the exhibition openings or the luxurious holiday, *sigh!
But, the big moments are so few and far between that life can feel like an endless pursuit of the next big thing.
I’ve been very harshly reminded this year, not only with the pandemic but throughout my mum’s final journey with cancer that it truly is all about the small moments;
Walking arm in arm.
A chat over a cuppa tea and a slice of cake.
Seeing the birds feed on berries outside your window.
Watching the dog revel in a game of hide and seek.
Enjoying a breath of fresh air as you take a walk.
A drive.
A bath.
A phone call.
Telling someone you love that you love them.
So, to end the year in a celebration of the small moments, I’m painting a miniature painting a day throughout the month of November.
I’d love for you to join along in this challenge either by keeping an eye out on Facebook or Instagram, suggesting ideas to paint or taking part yourself.
If you want a first look at the paintings or to take part yourself, click here to be on a list to receive the painting straight to your inbox each day at 10am before I post it publicly at noon and to receive curated images to paint your own.
Because the small things in life are the big things.
ForM is by far my favourite group exhibition of the year to visit and I am honoured to have been one of artists involved in it this year.
If you missed the exhibition, here’s a round up.
