Porcelain Paperclay Roses: SOLD OUT
Porcelain Paperclay Roses: SOLD OUT
Forever Flowers that never wilt or fade
Each ceramic flower is painstakingly made by hand, ensuring each rose is unique, just like flowers from nature. The attention to detail in these miniature works of art is exquisite.
Crafted using a type of clay created by the artist, each petal is as thin and as crisp as real petals and fused onto cut willow to create a natural finish.
Use them in a vase to add continual delight in your home, tuck them into your wedding bouquet, give them as a heartfelt gift or pop them into an indoor plant arrangement for extra drama and texture.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What are they made of?
They're made of Porcelain Paper clay I make up myself using the most luxurious Ming Porcelain which is melted down over the course of a week to create a silky fluid, heralded as ‘liquid gold’ by ceramicists and then combined with paper fibres to form Paperclay.
The paperclay is then poured onto plaster batts, which soak up the excess water so it can be lifted to create paper-thin sheets, unttainable in traditional clay. The sheets are cut, moulded and shaped to create individual petals which are hand pieced together to create unique and meticulously crafted porcelain flowers.
They're left to dry slowly then fired to 1240 degrees in the kiln before being fused using epoxy resin onto cut and varnished willow.
What makes them different to artificial flowers?
They're hand made, crafted with years of experience and care to create unique sculptural flowers. They don't fade and aren't factory-produced. Each one is a truly unique work of art.
Are they Fragile?
Yes, although not as fragile as you'd imagine. They're high fired to stoneware temperatures of 1240 which makes clay as strong as it can be and the Willow is reinforced with a varnish to seal it, but but they still need to be handled with care.

You can display them in a vase or container you own or put them in an indoor plant pot along with your favourite plant. Alternatively, they jazz up a shelf or mantlepiece. They should not be placed in water. I am currently developing some vases to accompany the roses, so you can also keep an eye out for them.
