ForM, an outdoor exhibition has just finished in which I showed ‘Interconnected,’ a new sculpture about how in spite of any perceived barriers we are more connected than we might think.

Connection was one of the reasons I wanted to be involved in this exhibition - to connect with other makers, my own work and the outdoors.

Displaying my sculptures outdoors is by far my favourite way to exhibit. Yes, I also show work in the pristine white walled galleries, but for me, nothing beats seeing a sculpture interact with the real world. Of seeing a bee take a break on a sculpture’s shoulder, watching a child run past either totally oblivious or else stop, engage and question. To experience a sculpture alongside the smell of fresh rain, earth and pollen or to see how it dances with the sun - to me, that’s magic.
